Shepherd’s Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium sweet onion; diced
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 3 cup diced, cooked roast beef
  • 1 and 1/2 cup beef gravy
  • 1 teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cup seasoned mashed potatoes
  • 2 tablespoon grated parmesan or romano cheese
  • paprika (to taste)

Saute onion and celery in butter until tender.  Stir in meat, oregano and gravy.  Season with salt, pepper and worcestershire sauce.  Heat through.  Pour hot mixture into buttered shallow 2-quart casserole dish.  Spoon mashed potatoes over hash.  Sprinkle with cheese and paprika.  Bake at 350 degrees (F) for 40 minutes.
